We had a really good, really hot, super eventful summer. Family came from Chile, New York, Vegas, Provo and SLC for the week of July 4th. We had a memorable time, to say the least. Reagan started school and had a birthday, good quality time with G&G Greenfield, and Labor Day took us to the beach. Good times all.

Fall '09

What a blur the last few months have been. We moved from St. Louis to Salt Lake where we lived in Tanner's parents home for 8 weeks while we searched for a home in Georgia. It broke our hearts leaving St. Louis where we had a few years with Erin's family. Leaving Sandy was hard as well as we finally had a good the amount of quality time that we've missed as we've been away. The flip side is that we've fallen in love with Peachtree City and what it offers. The city is only about 6 miles long and 3 miles wide and has 90 miles of golf cart paths weaving throughout the community. Kids go to school on golf carts, Moms do their shopping on golf carts and some families even drive the cart to church. It's a pretty quaint little place. We live next to Lake Kedron which provides a good amount of recreational possibilities.

Summer '09

Summer '09 saw several chapters close and a few new chapters open. Here are the highlights:

Tanner graduated with his MBA from the University of Missouri.
Erin was released as Relief Society President of the O'Fallon, IL 1st Ward.
Tanner accepted a position with PIL in Atlanta, GA.
We sold our home in St. Louis and moved to Salt Lake City for 8 weeks while searching for a home in Georgia.
Finally found a home in Peachtree City, GA (20 miles south of Atlanta) and will close on October 8th.

Spring '09

Welp...everyone's happy it's spring. Posted are a few of the highlights. Erin came with me to the UK for a week. We spent a few days in London and then a few days in Bristol, England. Had a magical time. Erin ran another marathon in Nashville, TN. She did great! Nashville is a beautiful city. We put our house up for sale and are moving to Atlanta in the fall. We're pretty excited to experience southern livin' for a few years. Ty and his "friend" Caroline came into town and we took a quick trip to Nauvoo. It was a memorable weekend. And finally, Noelle turned one year old this spring...little stinker.

Winter '09

Mom and Dad had to stay in Chile (last minute) for Christmas, so the show had to go one without them. Determined not to allow their absence spoil the festivities we met in Sandy, found a fake tree, dug out Mom's decorations, and had a pretty darn good time.

A couple of cool milestones this summer: Erin turned the big 3-0 and Reagan turned 4 and had her first Mickey Mouse encounter.

Spring '08

Our new addition came to us yesterday afternoon. Erin was in labor for about 5 1/2 hours...about a third as long as she labored with Reagan (on Labor Day, no less.)

Noelle was born 6 lbs and 3 oz...and looks like a mini replica of my Uncle Wayne, which, no offense Wayne, wasn't what we had in mind.

Erin felt really good this morning so I took Reagan to debut in her first-ever primary program (Mother's Day) and then went back to the hospital to bring Erin home. It was everything I could do to convince her to leave the hospital food behind.

We put together these pictures of Noelle's journey for those we wish could have been here with us. Life is good.

Winter '08

It's a girl! Here's her cute little profile. We used to be convinced the ultrasound ladies were just good at acting like they could see things in the black and white dots and just hope you wouldn't call them on it. This time we can actually see something. Reagan began praying for a sister a few weeks before the ultrasound and now has a new found testimony of prayer. She's convinced her sister's name should be "Zella."

We spent Christmas in O'Fallon this year. We realized during the week of Christmas that we'd never spent Christmas in our own home before. We've both spent 6 of our last 8 Christmas holidays out of the country, dating back to our missions (Rome, Grand Cayman, Chile -2 x's, St. Maarten, Trinidad and Fiji.) It was neat spending Christmas in our own home, with our own tree, in our own beds.

Erin is still plugging away as Relief Society President...doing a tremendous job. I'm very much enjoying my work with Partners In Leadership and trying to survive a Financial Accounting class, among others, on the weekends. Life is good.

Fall '07

Welp...we have a new critter on the way. Fall brought with it the news that that Erin is pregnant. We're game with a girl, boy or whatever we end up with! We can't wait. Reagan turned 3 years old in September as well. Every year we put together a video with pictures of Reagan from the previous year that we show at her birthday dinner.

Summer '07

Summer '07 was productive. We finished off the house renovations and got completely moved-in and settled. The "project" ended up taking longer than the 3 weeks we had anticipated....try 2 1/2 months. We started out thinking we'd just paint a few walls...next thing we knew the only thing left in the house were two bathroom mirrors.

Other significant events this summer - Papa bought Reagan 3 chickens that she keep on their property, I started an MBA program on the weekends at the University of Missouri, Family trip to Lake Powell, Ginger died (Mama and Papa's dog...and Reagan's good buddy,) and Erin joined me on a client trip to Germany/Netherlands for a week.

Spring '07!

Life is good and busy. We bought a new home last month and have been renovating in the evening hours over the last several weeks. (We'll post before and after pictures in our next entry.) The renovation began with a plan to just paint a few rooms....next thing we knew the house was gutted and needed to be put back together. We're in that process now. (Tiling, countertops, building an in-home office, carpet, etc...) Erin was called as the Relief Society president a couple months ago. She is doing a phenomenol job overseeing a group of 100+ women.

Recap: Our First St. Louis Winter

When we first moved to St. Louis we made one rule - we're not going to compare anything to California or Cayman. That rule served us really well...until our first ice storm (see pics below.) We had friends and family telling us it would be a good idea to buy a weeks worth of food because a storm was on its way. We've lived through storms before and thought everyone just needed to relax a little bit...this ain't the Rockies. Welp, after about our 5th day without electricity we were clearer about what our well intentioned friends meant by "storm." Fortunately, we had a wood burning stove in the basement to keep us warm...and an old monopoly game to occupy our thoughts.

Christmas in Salt Lake City...hard to beat it. Chase came home from his mission in Thailand a few days after Christmas. We got up skiing a few times, went to some performances, etc...but we mostly just had a a good time hangin' around. Here are some pics:

November 2006

November was a busy month. I went to Thailand, Singapore, India, and then back to China for the 4th time this year. Erin met me in India where we stayed at the Hilton Trident Resort in New Delhi for about 3 days and then flew down to the Mumbai for several days. Erin has wanted to see India for years. We stayed at a hotel that can really only be described with pictures. Yesterday we went to the Taj Mahal...10 hours in the car round trip...dodging cows and water buffalo the entire way. I've never seen worse poverty...China, Guyana, etc...nothing holds a candle to what you see here in India. Early this morning we flew into Bombay (Southern India.) We found a church meeting that was meeting in a tiny little house in South Bombay. It was an absolute miracle that we found the church...we arrived 3 minutes before the meeting began...we thought we'd be arriving just as church was concluding (our flight was delayed and it was then an hour long drive to the address we got off the church's website,) but it turned out that church was starting at 11:30. The branch president, shown in the picture on the right, asked Erin and me to speak just after having arrived...several of them then shared their conversion stories with us. Their faith and dedication was moving. We then spent the remainder of the day eating dinner with a member of the branch who is going to be Erin's shopping escort tomorrow while I'm working with Baxter Health Care India.

It's difficult to appreciate the incline this woman is walking up in this picture. She passed me as I was waiting for Erin to come out of a restroom that was planted on the side of a hill on the island of Elephanta. She and the other women with her were flattered that I would want to take her picture.

Shanghai - Sept. '06

Baxter chose a different location in Shanghai for these series of workshops. I wondered how they could do any better than the last location, until I got there. The Xijao State Guest Hotel is owned and run by the Communist Party. Until a few years ago the hotel was only available to government officials and foreign diplomats. (There are pictures of heads of state all over the walls who've stayed there...Queen Elizabeth, Gorbachev, etc...) The hotel is in the city, but is made up of guest villas tucked away on nearly 1,000 acres of beautifully manicured lawns and gardens. The place was somewhat eerie, as it's so big but there were so few people around. By far more gardeners and hotel attendants than people staying in the villas. It was incredible seeing the amount of busy work the goverment provides for people.

O'Fallon, IL - The New Digs

Here's a contrast from living 200 yards off the I-215 in Riverside County. You'd never know you're living 20 miles away from a metropolitan city.

Life, overall, is quite different in the midwest. We made a rule the first week we moved here that we wouldn't compare things to Southern California...and that has made all the difference. The move has been ideal in many ways. Erin's parents have been able to watch Reagan, so Erin can travel with me from time to time. She's coming to India with me in 3 weeks...something that never would have happened in SoCal.

St. Louie Bound

Welp...tomorrow morning we officially move to the great Midwest. We thought we'd start keeping a blog to stay in closer touch with friends and family.

We've sold our cars and are flying back there (shipped all of our stuff yesterday on a Pod.) We took this picture early this week after my last day in "the office." I'll be working from home in St. Louis and then doing school on Saturdays beginning sometime next year.

We didn't have any idea how hard it would be to leave Sunny SoCal. I was released from my calling on Sunday. It was an emotional week, to say the least. Mom and Dad came down from SLC to spend the weekend with us. Dad taught a fireside for the Young Single Adults on Sunday night. It was a wonderful evening.

The next chapter awaits on the journey. Good times!
